Lewisville ISD Announces Interim Superintendent
At its Dec. 17 Special Board Meeting, the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) Board of Trustees unanimously named Dr. Kevin Rogers as Interim Superintendent as the Board searches for its new Superintendent of Schools. Rogers has served as the district’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the past four years.

LISD Board Holds First Superintendent Search Special Meeting
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the Lewisville ISD (LISD) Board of Trustees held its first in a series of special meetings to discuss next steps in the superintendent search process. During this meeting, the Board formally accepted Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell’s letter of retirement, effective Jan. 31, 2015.

Apple recently named Lewisville ISD’s (LISD) 1:X™ initiative as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2014-2016, a two-year designation. With a 30-year history of investing in creative approaches to education, Apple’s Distinguished Program award recipients are recognized internationally for setting the bar for high-quality, innovative education programs. Apple qualifies the award as non-competitive. LISD has researched past recipients of this award and there has been approximately three Texas Apple Distinguished Programs since 2007.

Dear Lewisville ISD Community: It is with a sad heart that I announce my retirement effective January 31, 2015. I have had a great career beginning in 1980. I have loved every minute of it. I want to thank the administrators and boards that have given me the chance to serve their children: Splendora, Lancaster, Sunray, Tuloso-Midway, Birdville and Lewisville. UPDATE: LISD Announces 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration
Due to the weather forecast for Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, LISD’s Public Veterans Day Celebration will be held indoors at Marcus High School, located at 5707 Morriss Road in Flower Mound (a map with directions is attached). The public event will still begin at 10:30 a.m. and reserved parking is available.

LISD’s Veterans Day Recognition Breakfast will still be held at Timber Creek Elementary (1900 Timber Creek Road, Flower Mound) at 9:30 a.m. A shuttle bus service will be provided from Timber Creek Elementary to MHS.

We are here to announce exciting news about the LISD “Stuff the Pantry” food drive!
Our school collected 2,776 items that will be donated to families so they can have food in their pantries over the holidays. THANK YOU for doing such an amazing job caring about others!
The grade level classes with the highest donation points are:
➢ Kindergarten - Mrs. Khastehdel’s class with 327 points
➢ 1st grade - Mrs. Wilson’s class with 245 points
➢ 2nd grade - Mrs. Harless’ class with 161 points
➢ 3rd grade - Ms. Schmidt’s class with 331 points
➢ 4th grade - Mrs. Walker’s class with 254 points
➢ and the WINNING CLASS who has earned the title of “The Most Giving Class” and will have the honor of displaying this “giving tree” trophy in their classroom throughout the holidays is.......
➢ Mrs. Leonard’s 5th grade class with a whopping 626 points!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Leonard’s Class and to EVERYONE who helped make a difference by giving to others!
And THANK YOU, Student Council Reps and Committee Members, for giving up your recess time to take care of the donations. Good job!!
