Nurse

Hi,

My name is Jennifer Gray, but most everyone calls me Nurse Jenn and I am so grateful to serve as the Elementary school nurse here at Hicks Elementary since 2012.  I have been a registered nurse since 1989 and during that time I have cared for predominantly children, but also elderly adults.  The longest stretch of my nursing career has been here at Hicks elementary where I have had the joy of caring for children and supporting families in Lewisville ISD, the only school district for which I have worked. My background includes a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Michigan, working in the fields of pediatric cardiology, pediatric nephrology, peritoneal dialysis, pediatric gynecology, clinic research nursing, geriatric home health care before landing my dream job of being a school nurse.  I am blessed to live out my passion daily helping students feel safe, healthy and ready to learn each day.  At Hicks, I work alongside the teachers, staff, and parents to care for health needs, encouraging healthy habits, and be a resource for families.  Outside of school, I enjoy reading, live music and concerts, college football, and am very active in my church home.  I am always happy to connect with families to support their children's well-being.  My door is always open not only for our timberwolves, but their families and the staff here at Hicks elementary!
